Nurturing Environments Institute (NEI) is an organization dedicated to using the latest behavioral science research towards creating nurturing and effective environments in order to help all individuals flourish across home, school, community and work contexts. The nurturing environments focus is based on a synthesis of decades of research in education as well as mental and public health that concludes many of the challenges we face are interconnected: they have common conditions that initiate and maintain them, and common solutions that can be embedded into all environments. We additionally focus on effective environments, which is the recognition that knowing is not enough; therefore, we need effective systems that facilitate successful implementation of evidence-based practices to close the research to practice gap.
